Substitution
As veneer in its natural coloring for Cerejeira, Eyong, Pterygota and Nigerian Satinwood; brownish steamed for Oak-lumbers and imbued for Wenge (Millettia laurentii) or Panga-Panga (Millettia stuhlmannii). – As solid wood (partially) for Celtis (Ohia) / Oak-lumbers, European Ash (Fraxinus excelsiot), Eyong, Pterygota, Manil (Symphonia globulifera) and European Beech (Fagus syivatica).

Characteristics
The sapwood is nearly white and 5 cm wide. The heartwood goes from yellow to light golden brown and turns darker. The pores are rough, scattered and less numerous, so surface does not appear porous; Pore channels of all longitudinal areas are mostly straight serial. The direction of grain is predominantly straight, partly also with light irregular twist and mostly forms a weak shine-stripe. The texture is clearly striped, ragged flamy and matt polished effect. It is very decorative.
