Cameroon, South Gabon, frequently in the Laguna-peripheral area at Fernan Vaz.
Characteristics
The sapwood and the heartwood are strongly different. The sapwood is nearly white and useless. The heartwood is grey brown to light brown yellow, matt-finished, with dark brown, tangential continued stripes. Therefore it is very decorative. The structure is rough and often cross-grain. The wood has a peculiar fetidness in freshly cut.
