Characteristics
The sapwood and the heartwood are only less different, whereas the sapwood is a little bit brighter. The heartwood is red brown, sometimes beautiful grained and endue with small stains. The annual rings emerge as small, dark stripes. The texture is fine, constant and slight striped by irregular twist, the structure is mostly cross-grain. The wood shrinks very little, is weatherproof and durable. It is medium-heavy, hard and only low imperishable.
