western North America, along the Pacific coast from British-Colombia to Central California, mainly in Oregon

Characteristics

The tree reaches up to 80 m when well cared for and diameter up to 300 cm. The sapwood and the heart are well separated. The sapwood is whitish, the heartwood pink-yellowish. Oregon Pine is one of the firmest softwoods; it is hard and shrinks moderately. It is highly resinous, mostly straight grained, medium-heavy and with a beautiful texture.
