Characteristics
The sapwood and the heartwood are slightly different. The sapwood is lighter than the heartwood and narrow. The wood is reddish brown. The annual rings have different widths and are usually wavy, making the wood very decorative. The structure is mostly straight grained, it also occurs spiral grain depending on its origin. The texture is very thick and fine-grained.
