The sapwood is narrow, whitish to slightly yelllow and well separated from heart. The heartwood is yellowish to light brown, later it turns to a darker reddish brown, in longitudinal cut from light to dark streaky structure with matt-finished, sapwoodele-type effect. The pores are coarse and scattered, partially with yellowish filling. The wood is very firm, thick and elastic as well as resistant against fungi and insect attack.
