About Arroway Textures
Questions about us and our products.
Are the freely downloadable textures not already quite large? Why are you giving them away for free?
Although some other companies don't seem to share our view, we see no point in selling low-res textures. And we consider everything up to 1024px x 1024px as low-res.
We provide these low-res versions of our textures under a Creative Commons Licence (CC BY, details here), which even allows for commercial use. You may use them in any way you wish, as well as for any purpose. If you find yourself using such textures regularly in your professional work, please consider bying a full licence - we would appreciate it!
When will you release your next product?
Hard to say. Although we do work full-time on new texture packs, it's hard to predict when a new release will be ready. Therefore we don't officially announce new products before their release.
What software do you use for your demo rendering?
We're mainly using Autodesk® 3ds Max® with Maxwell Render®.
What's the difference between the purchasable textures and the free downloads?
Resolution! The free version has only about 1/10th of the resolution of the original full-res texture, which amounts to only 1% of the total pixels. For example, the free version has a resolution of 600px x 600px, whereas the original map is 6000px x 6000px.
